Measuring Mixer/Extruder Designed for QC
Time: 2009-02-13
The new Haake PolyLab QC measuring mixer & extruder system from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Waltham, Mass., is specifically designed for QC needs. Its modular torque rheometer can be connected to an interchangeable mixer, single-screw extruder, or conical twin-screw extruder. (It is compatible with older Haake measuring mixers and extruders.) It comes in either floor- or bench-mounted models that enable QC staff to characterize samples for processability, mixing dispersion, and curing or degradation behavior. Described as a “little sibling” to the high-end PolyLab OS R&D system, the QC model can be used to compare R&D and production QC results. Measuring data from older torque rheometers can be imported into the new system to correlate new and old measuring results. Devices like mixers or extruders are automatically recognized by the “plug-and-play” software.
